Resolve Server Hostname

Endpoint

GET /api/v1/servers/{hostname}

The hostname is resolved like a Minecraft client: _minecraft._tcp SRV records are preferred, with IPv4 A records and port 25565 used as the fallback.

Example

curl "https://slowstack.tv/api/v1/servers/play.example.com"
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

Response

The endpoint always returns an array because one hostname can resolve to multiple servers.

{
  "data": [
    {
      "ipAddress": 2009579552,
      "port": 25565,
      "versionName": "Paper 1.21",
      "hostnames": ["ptr.example.net"]
    }
  ]
}

Only servers already indexed by Slowstack are returned. A successful DNS resolution with no indexed match returns 404 NOT_FOUND.

The hostnames field contains reverse-DNS PTR names and is independent of the player-facing hostname supplied in the request.
