Everything you need to know about slowstack
slowstack is a Minecraft server scanner that indexes and tracks thousands of servers. We collect publicly available information like server names (MOTD), player counts, versions, and sample player lists to help you explore the Minecraft server landscape.
We scan publicly accessible Minecraft servers across the internet using the standard server list ping protocol - the same method your Minecraft client uses when you add a server to your server list. If your server is reachable on a public IP address and responds to ping requests, it can be indexed. We only collect information that servers publicly broadcast to anyone who connects.
We use the standard Minecraft server list ping protocol to query servers. This returns the server MOTD, player count, max players, version info, and the sample player list (if enabled). This is the same information any Minecraft client sees when pinging a server.
Live Streams finds the Minecraft servers that Twitch streamers are currently playing on. It shows live streams along with the server IP, so you can join the same server as your favourite streamers.
For each player, we track their UUID, username, current presence (when reported by servers), and recent session history (up to 30 days). Players are identified from the sample player list that servers broadcast, which typically shows a random subset of online players.
We collect the server IP and port, MOTD (description), version name and protocol, current and max player counts, favicon, secure chat enforcement, chat preview settings, country location, and Forge mod lists from supported versions.
We display player information exactly as reported by servers. Some servers disable the sample player list, limit it to a few players, or use plugins that modify/fake player names. The data reflects what the server broadcasts, which may not include all online players or may contain fake entries.
If your server isn't appearing in our database, it may not have been scanned yet, could be offline, or might not be reachable on a public IP address. Servers behind certain proxy configurations may also not be indexed.
We store player session history for up to 30 days, including join times, leave times, and session duration. We may retain aggregated player-server associations (first/last seen) beyond 30 days. We do not store historical server uptime or server state data.
